The RTR schedule is a combination of sessions led by our Staff and Committee, and also sessions lead by our attendees! We post a big schedule on the wall of the main building with scheduled sessions and all the open times/places so attendees can fill in sessions they want to lead in those slots. This means that the attendees help make RTR what it is!!
Please remember that camper-led workshops are added by hand on the big printed schedule in the dining hall – we will endeavor to update this digital schedule over the weekend to reflect those as they are added, but the printed schedule on the wall should be followed in the case of any discrepancies.

Taking the Lead with the Carter Family (Charmaine Slaven): Ever wanted to sing at a bluegrass or old time jam? Learn some amazing Carter Family repretoire while also gaining the skills and confidence to lead instrumentalists in backing up a song.
Spoooky Sooongs and Booollads (Charmaine Slaven): With samhain just around the corner, lets sing some spine-tingling, hair-raising songs that celebrate the paranormal.
Songs from Powerful Women (Charmaine Slaven): Let’s learn some cool songs written and sung by some strong female identifying folks such as Hazel Dickens, Alice Gerrard, Bessie Jones, Ola Belle Read, and more!
Foundations of Improvised Singing (Downbeat Collective): Come explore the freedom and thrill of collaborative vocal improv! Calling upon the knowledge of the lineage of Bobby Mcferrin and our teacher Rhiannon, we will get into the how-to’s of making music in the moment together- so that it sounds and feels good. If the idea of improvising music is a little scary- fear not! We will break it down and make it accessible to everyone. Come play and make the music that wants to be made.
Continuous Flow (Downbeat Collective): Lets get into the fun and connection that is the foundation under vocal improv. We will use games from our Brazilian teachers Musica do Circulo to dive into connection, music and fun. Get ready to laugh, make mistakes and enjoy it all.
Vocal River Jams (Downbeat Collective): Lets go deeper into the magic of making spontaneous improvised music together. We will work in smaller groups to practice and develop our skills, our attunement to each other and have fun doing so.
